  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in STEM (Master’s or PhD preferred) or deep expertise in a frontier technology field
  • Professional Experience (one of the following):
  • 3-5 years in technology-focused roles at top consulting firms (e.g., McKinsey, BCG), leading industry white papers
  • Strong technology research background in investment banking or asset management, with experience in industry research or sector analysis
  • Science or technology communication experience as columnists or journalists at top media outlets, or at leading tech companies, tech VCs, or universities
  • Strong understanding of global tech startup ecosystems, investment trends, and regulatory landscapes
  • Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and convey complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences, including public facing platforms like LinkedIn or blogs. (Chinese proficiency is a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor key trends in transformative technologies (e.g., GenAI, quantum, fusion, decarbonization, etc.) and continue to establish Tencent’s thought leadership in these fields globally
  • Produce sector analysis to inform investment decisions
  • Collaborate with Global Public Affairs, R&D, investment, and business teams to distill complex technical concepts into clear, strategic communications that reinforce Tencent’s leadership in innovation
  • Showcase Tencent’s global investments and strategic collaborations within the tech ecosystem, reinforcing Tencent’s brand as a thought leader in transformative technologies
  • Build relationships with universities, venture capital firms, and policymakers to foster strategic partnerships and drive innovation in emerging tech sectors
  • (Optional) Potential to explore a transition into an investment track as career development progresses
