Responsibilities

  • Educate stakeholders on Purchasing Process, ensure budget is fully approved & SOW is clear before starting the sourcing process
  • Identify the right suppliers to be added to the bid list after coordination with stakeholder
  • Select the right sourcing type & complete the whole purchasing cycle
  • Ensure a fair bid environment
  • Develop a strategic approach for the purchase
  • Negotiation process (negotiating price, T&C, Incoterm, lead time, after-service … )
  • Mitigate legal and operational risks & protect GM’s intellectual property
  • Conduct the technical evaluation process through Customer / Supplier meetings & follow ups
  • Prepare the sourcing recommendation / decision
  • Obtaining the right approvals as per local approval matrix & global procedure
  • PO / Contract awarding / creation on SAP & signing
  • Selling scrap / obsolete / mutilated parts to generate revenue through spot sale or long-term contracts
  • Documentation & filing of every step in the process that led to the sourcing decision
  • Full compliance with local & GM global policies & procedures
  • Reporting / uploading the right figures timely to tracker / EGY / ESO
  • Provide value to GM by identifying cost savings opportunities and work with the stakeholders to develop them
  • Continuously searching for better suppliers to enrich GM database & the competition
  • Contract management and building strategic relationship with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Work on suppliers’ complaints & solving issues promptly (receiving, payment issues, pricing issues, ..)
  • Actively participate in development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, global/regional material budget execution, and interface with suppliers or internal stakeholders
