Requirements

  • Payroll Subject matter expert
  • Advanced knowledge of Workday
  • Understanding of Voya policy, state, and federal regulations
  • Knowledge of FLSA, wage and hour regulations, and federal/state regulations
  • Ability to analyze agency notices
  • Experience with payroll tax returns (941, 941C, W2, W2C)
  • Experience with payroll accounting
  • Ability to interpret pay and data related to policies

Responsibilities

  • Produce semimonthly, monthly, and equity payrolls
  • Ensure compliance with Voya policy, state, and federal regulations
  • Serve as the point of contact for audits
  • Work with Outsourcing Service Provider on tax updates and complex payroll tax issues
  • Manage compensation calculations related to multistate tax allocations, imputed income, relocations, and yearend adjustments
  • Manage projects associated with the maintenance of payroll tax records
  • Prepare payroll tax returns and related reports
  • Process payroll accurately and timely in Workday
  • Develop and run reports to ensure accuracy of payroll data
  • Upload, audit, and correct payroll data from various sources
  • Investigate and correct data as needed
  • Review and maintain employee tax withholding and jurisdiction records
  • Review new hire tax set up for accuracy
  • Review deduction and tax variance reports
  • Assist with off-cycle paychecks and HR/payroll transactions
  • Maintain SUI rates in Workday
  • Quarter-end processing with third-party service provider for tax filing
  • Research and resolve out-of-balance tax situations
  • Work with Payroll Accounting to initiate new registrations
  • Manage the payroll/tax year-end reporting of W2
  • Verify year-to-date totals for salaries, income tax withheld, FICA, and FICA Medicare wages and deductions
  • Offer guidance and assistance to other staff on payroll and tax matters
