Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year mechanic work experience documented in work history or graduate of an industrial maintenance training program (can be combination of employers if at least 1 year)
  • Proficiency in reading and writing; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and communicate effectively across all management levels
  • Ability to read and comprehend labels, numbers, and instructions, and communicate effectively
  • Willing and able to perform physical requirements: climbing ladders, working from elevated platforms, standing/walking on hard floors, occasional lift of 60 lbs (with or without reasonable accommodation)
  • Available to work C shift (overnight); work 4-5 days per week with 2-3 days off, including Sundays and some major holidays; overtime as scheduled
  • Welding experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment and company assets associated with pork processing
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to Tyson policies and procedures
  • Troubleshoot facility and equipment problems in day-to-day operations
  • Perform work involving hydraulics, electrical, plumbing, conveyor maintenance, 3-phase wiring, AC/DC control wiring, welding, and pneumatic systems
  • Set up, adjust, and break down production machinery
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance duties
  • Complete daily reports and paperwork
