Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline. A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in miscellaneous medical professional liability or healthcare underwriting is required, with experience managing both high-volume small accounts and complex risks. Experience in Cyber & Technology Underwriting is preferred, and the ability to travel 20-30% of the time is necessary. The ideal candidate would reside in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Illinois, but candidates from any continental US state will be considered.
The Head of Telehealth & Miscellaneous Medical Professional Liability will manage a diverse portfolio of miscellaneous medical and telehealth accounts, overseeing risk selection, pricing, retention, growth, and profitability. This role involves underwriting both small, quick-turnaround accounts and complex telehealth/tech-related accounts, analyzing submissions, determining terms, and pricing business according to guidelines. Responsibilities include assessing risk quality and compliance, monitoring financial performance, and implementing corrective actions. The position requires collaboration with management to shape the product, contributing ideas for process improvements, coverage options, and product development. Maintaining strong broker relationships, utilizing data analytics for productivity improvements, and performing other assigned duties are also key aspects of this role.
