Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Precision Medicine to lead and scale this high-growth business capability. This individual will be responsible for overall business performance, including P&L ownership, commercial strategy, operations, client delivery, and cross-functional leadership. Working as a member of the extended PPD CorEvitas leadership team, they will play a critical role in expanding our precision medicine offerings, strengthening partnerships with biopharma clients, and shaping the future of RWE in support of targeted therapies.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap for the Precision Medicine business unit in alignment with enterprise goals and PPD CorEvitas Executive Team.
  • Lead business development efforts in partnership with commercial BD teams, with support from science SMEs, to grow the client base and expand use cases for biospecimens and omics data.
  • Identify and evaluate new product opportunities, partnerships, and adjacent markets.
  • Lead and coordinate proposal generation processes, materials and inputs from CorEvitas stakeholders to support profitable growth.

Operational Execution

  • Oversee daily operations of the Precision Medicine department, including program design, biospecimen logistics, data generation (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics), and customer deliverables.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other PPD CorEvitas department stakeholders to successfully effort biorepository programs.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs, both internally for Precision Medicine, and cross-functionally with operations, to ensure delivery excellence, margin optimization, and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain oversight of Precision Medicine department budgets, resource allocation, vendor relationships, and quality standards.

Executive & Team Leadership

  • Partner closely with PPD CorEvitas leadership and Thermo Fisher Scientific stakeholders to support cross-registry and cross-portfolio initiatives to integrate biospecimens and multi-modal data into broader evidence generation strategies.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing team spanning scientific operations, program management, and client services.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and mission-driven impact.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10+ years of experience in life sciences, CRO, diagnostics, or healthcare data sectors.
  • Proven P&L leadership with demonstrated ability to grow a business and manage complex operations.
  • Track record managing multi-disciplinary teams delivering on biospecimen collection studies or prospective clinical studies (registries or clinical trials).
  • Deep understanding of the biopharma value chain and regulatory environment (e.g., FDA, EMA).
  • Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, contracting, and client engagement.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field (PhD, MD, MBA).
  • Experience working in matrixed, multi-national public corporations and/or high-growth business environments.
  • Familiarity with autoimmune, neurology, or oncology therapeutic areas.
