  • Mindset: Hands-on and pragmatic, with a “business partner” mindset.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desirable: Experience with startups or high-growth environments.

Responsibilities

  • Legal Strategy & Leadership:
    • Build and lead the in-house legal function and legal risk framework across the group.
    • Advise the Board and C-suite on legal, regulatory, and governance issues.
    • Manage external legal counsel relationships efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Commercial & Contract Law:

  • Regulatory & Healthcare Compliance:
    • Advise on compliance with UK medical cannabis regulations, controlled drugs legislation, MHRA, GPhC, and CQC standards.
    • Support pharmacy and clinic teams in day-to-day regulatory matters.

  • Corporate & Group Structure:
    • Oversee governance of a multi-entity group, including shareholder agreements, board resolutions, and corporate filings.
    • Advise on structuring around IP, tax, and commercial risk mitigation.
    • Support future funding rounds, M&A, and international expansion.
