We are seeking a leader to guide our teams in adopting human-centered practices that inspire innovation and deliver elevated experiences for our customers and products.

As a key leader within the Store Technology portfolio, the Group Product Designer will lead and manage a team of Product Designers to deliver exceptional experiences for our Athletes and Teammates, both in-store and across channels. You will partner with stakeholders and cross-functional technology leaders to shape the in-store experience within the broader end-to-end Athlete journey. Your team will focus on delivering seamless experiences across sales, checkout, services, and more, integrating software, hardware, and teammate operations. You will also play a key role in maturing the design practice across the Stores organization and beyond.

Role Responsibilities

Human-Centered Advocate

  • Expand teammate understanding and application of human-centered design.
  • Increase stakeholder exposure and involvement in critical HCD activities.
  • Find creative ways to influence HCD across multiple products.

Evidence & Risk

  • Guide teammates on avoiding extensive research practices through design maturity.
  • Understand that the nature of evidence needed will parallel the nature of the risk presented to the customer and/or the business.

Discovery

  • Guide teammates through a process rooted in problem-solving frameworks.
  • Leverage mixed-methods research to support the identification and understanding of users (and systems), journeys, and top problems.

Experimentation

  • Incorporate learning as a critical part of your management philosophy.
  • Enable teams to create methods for validating the effectiveness of the experience pre-launch through experimentation, prototype testing, A/B testing, usability testing, and so forth.

Data-Driven

  • Guide teammates on leveraging mixed-methods data insights to drive decision-making.

Development

  • Ensure teams commit to delivering an end-to-end experience.
  • Product designers will leverage Homefield, our in-house design system, to communicate and pair with software engineers throughout the development process.

Feedback

  • Provide appropriate forums to seek feedback and understanding amongst your teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Aggregate and activate this feedback in meaningful ways.

Leadership & People Management

  • Expand leadership capabilities by managing design for multiple product areas.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of cross-product domains and how this supports the overall strategy of the portfolio.
  • Support career development and growth opportunities for designers who report to you.
