Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, social sciences, English or journalism, political science or related field
  • 4-6 years relevant writing and prospect research experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Research, identify and develop relationships with private, corporate and public funders to acquire and retain grant dollars through written proposal development for Avera Health and Avera partner facilities and communities
  • Manage processes related to the completion of grant proposals for Avera Health and Avera partner facilities and communities
  • Provide grant management and oversight of awarded projects after funding is secured
  • Assist Avera affiliated clinical researchers with identifying funding opportunities, completing and submitting research proposals in conjunction with the Avera Research Institute staff
  • Participate in Objective Review Committees pertaining to rural health policy, rural health care, rural economic development and health related research
  • Assist health care leaders and community representatives in completing community assessments, market analysis and research surveys for rural based initiatives and grant funding
  • Manage long-term and short-term projects and programs that enhance the Mission of Avera and the Avera Rural Health Institute
  • Collect and maintain accurate documentation of awarded, pending and closed awards to support reporting and audit requirements
  • Secure funding through private and corporate foundations and public agencies by developing written applications and proposals, working in collaboration with Avera partner facilities
  • Assist with and at times lead project development through ongoing communication, facilitation, collaboration, and direction, as well as develop, write, and manage grant applications for Avera Rural Health Institute committed projects
  • Initiate and cultivate relationships with funders to increase support and strengthen resources throughout the Avera Health System
