Requirements

  • BS/BA in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related Business Degree. Master/MBA is a distinct advantage
  • 7 years sourcing/procurement experience in life sciences, diagnostic instrument or electronics industries
  • 5 years management experience
  • Cross-functional experience in product development, VAVE and/or manufacturing is a distinct advantage

Responsibilities

  • Drive year-over-year improvement in direct material spend through LCR-sourcing and supplier negotiation
  • Drive year-over-year improvement in indirect spend in the areas of freight, travel, material expenses
  • Improve factory internal yield by improving supplier quality
  • Achieve 1 Turn improvement, year-over-year in working capital through supplier stocking programs and DPO management
  • Launch new product on-time, on-budget, at targeted quality through deployment of effective project tollgate processes, a preferred supplier strategy, design FMEA and process FMEA
  • Achieve a best-in-class sourcing organization through effective deployment of standard work, supplier management programs and daily management
  • Build a strong and engaged sourcing team through concise objective-setting and performance appraisals, effective development plans, coaching, top-grading and attracting top-talent
  • Manage department budget, direct material spend and indirect spend globally
  • Passionately drive a DBS mentality and culture
  • Build significant process muscle in VAVE, which will increase profitability and add product features that generate revenue growth
  • Work effectively with Sales, Marketing, Product Development and Operations leadership towards achieving revenue and NPI goals
  • Deploy a global preferred supplier strategy to improve supplier quality, delivery and cost
  • Build process muscle for OEM supplier contracts and M&A activity
  • Effectively deploy and DRA resources globally to meet changing business requirements
  • Develop and execute a supply chain strategy that supports the company’s profitable growth plans
  • Serve as the primary owner of cost savings to be re-invested in product development
  • Directly manage a global sourcing & VAVE team in San Jose, USA and Shanghai, China and indirectly manage the Salzburg, Austria team
  • Handle supplier selection, supplier management, low-cost region sourcing, new product introductions, VAVE, quality and working capital management
