Requirements

Candidates should have 2-4 years of experience as a General Counsel or Associate GC for a venture-backed startup, or at least 7 years of big law experience. They must possess knowledge of U.S. securities, tax, and global compensation and benefits laws, along with strong contract drafting, reviewing, and redlining skills.

Responsibilities

The General Counsel will drive partnerships with law firms to become the go-to expert for token grants and incentive plans, provide guidance in conversations with law firms and clients, attend industry events to build relationships, create thought leadership content, offer legal guidance for product expansions, ensure product compliance with privacy and data security laws, and stay current with relevant laws and regulations. Additionally, they will take on Compliance Officer duties, including leading U.S. licensing efforts and managing contracts such as employment, service, and sales agreements, as well as advising on intellectual property and data protection matters and corporate governance.
