  • Inquisitive translation of business questions into design of research
  • Strong analytical and strategic competence, with ability to distill practical insights from consumer data and deliver clear action-driving recommendations (articulating the “so what” from research)
  • Strong verbal communication skills and experience with senior level client presentations and meetings
  • Collaborative attitude to work across a global organization to build a plan, get alignment, and execute it
  • Ability to operate independently and build out new programs, frameworks, and best practice approaches
  • Expertise in working efficiently and effectively in a highly matrixed organization
  • Occasional travel may be required to the San Francisco Bay area (US) and/or other locations as needed
  • Experienced consumer insights professional with strong consultation background
  • Passion for the collectibles world (e.g., trading cards, comics, coins)

Responsibilities

  • Create strong research briefs for internal and external research partners that sharply articulate the business question and research needs
  • Design, plan, and conduct qualitative and quantitative research, with deep knowledge of methodologies to arrive at the most actionable insights
  • Cull and analyze data from interviews, focus groups, or other qualitative or quantitative research
  • Build compelling insights from completed research and analysis; author executive-level reports and make informed recommendations to key partners and influencers that lead to action
  • Build strong relationships with a diverse set of cross-functional business partners to understand their challenges and priorities, define research roadmap, and drive actions through insight delivery
  • Become an indispensable thought partner and business leader who brings relevant insights to guide decision-making, provides clarity, puts the customer voice in context, connects the dots, and inspires action
  • Champion the voice of the consumer to the forefront of decision making for eBay’s Collectibles business globally (focusing on US, DE, and UK senior business teams)
