This role is ideal for an engineer passionate about building product and engaging directly with customers. You will alternate between shipping production-ready features and partnering with customers to ensure their successful integration and adoption of Orb.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical advisor during customer onboarding, guiding implementation and unblocking complex workflows.
  • Build custom integrations or tooling to facilitate customer success, with the potential to generalize these into core product features.
  • Collaborate closely with customers to understand their workflows, identify recurring needs, and contribute insights to shape the product roadmap.
  • Contribute across the technology stack to deliver high-quality product features and enhance internal tooling.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Design, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure a cohesive end-to-end customer experience.
  • Improve the efficiency of customer-facing teams by automating manual tasks and developing new tooling.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a software engineer, preferably in a fast-paced or startup environment.
  • Enthusiasm for combining engineering with hands-on customer interaction, similar to a forward-deployed engineer or solutions architect role.
  • Ability to tackle complex technical problems and translate ambiguous needs into functional solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Empathetic and user-focused approach, committed to building intuitive products that solve real problems.
  • Versatility across the tech stack and a willingness to learn new technologies and domains.
  • Motivated by impact and eager to see your work directly contribute to customer success.
