Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field, and have at least 3 years of experience in food product development, specifically within the bakery sector. Strong knowledge of bakery science, food formulation, and ingredient functionality is essential, along with experience in conducting ingredient testing, product evaluations, and sensory analysis. The ideal candidate should also be familiar with regulatory requirements such as Kosher, USDA organic, and GFSI (SQF).

Responsibilities

The Food Technologist will lead product formulation and renovation projects, execute bench-top formulations and plant trials, conduct ingredient testing and product evaluations, support troubleshooting of processing challenges, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new bakery products to market. They will also assure product development compliance for new products, support the creation of nutritional panels and ingredient decks, track technical ingredients and raw material specifications, and maintain accurate research and development records.
