Responsibilities
Effectively direct and supervise all activities of the deli/food service department and its personnel to achieve merchandising, sales, and customer service goals
Manage and supervise all department staff
Achieve merchandising, sales, and customer service objectives
Communicate directly with store management and department supervisors
Select, onboard, and coach new team members
Create and manage employee schedules
Greet customers with smiles and greetings
Offer product information and selling suggestions
Provide active sampling and genuine thank yous
Accurately process customer orders and ensure timely completion
Ensure department personnel adhere to all county, city, and company food safety and sanitation guidelines
Order necessary products and supplies
Maintain adequate stock levels
Monitor merchandising standards
Oversee the preparation and serving/merchandising of deli/food service items (breakfast, lunch, dinner, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, roller grill items, beverages, and snacks)
Adhere to deli/food service department and company merchandising guidelines
