Responsibilities

  • Directing department personnel to achieve goals and objectives
  • Communicating directly with store management and department supervisors
  • Selecting, onboarding, and coaching new team members
  • Scheduling all team members
  • Engaging with customers through greetings, product information, selling suggestions, and active sampling
  • Taking customer orders and ensuring satisfaction
  • Ensuring department personnel adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ordering products and supplies to maintain adequate stock levels
  • Overseeing the preparation and serving/merchandising of deli/food service items (breakfast, lunch, dinner, sandwiches, salads, soups, etc.)
  • Displaying deli/food service items according to merchandising guidelines
  • Following product recipes precisely
  • Rotating deli/food service items to maintain quality, safety, and minimize shrink
  • Receiving merchandise, auditing invoices, and managing inventory
  • Maintaining appropriate stock levels and merchandising standards
