  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - active license in the state of practice upon hire
  • 3 years LPN experience required
  • Must work 72 hours in a 6-week schedule (equates to 624 hours annually, not to exceed 1248 hours in a 12-month period)
  • Must work 6 weekend shifts per year
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds

Responsibilities

  • Practices nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, licensed physician, or other authorized health care provider
  • Collects data and conducts a focused nursing assessment of the patient's health status
  • Participates with other health care providers in the development and modification of the patient-centered health care plan
  • Implements nursing interventions within a patient-centered health care plan
  • Assists in the evaluation of responses to interventions
  • Provides for the maintenance of safe and effective nursing care rendered directly or indirectly
  • Advocates for the best interest of the patient
  • Communicates and collaborates with patients and members of the health care team
  • Assists with health counseling and teaching
  • Delegates and assigns nursing interventions to implement the plan of care
  • Performs a focused nursing assessment including gathering and recording assessment data, observing, monitoring, and reporting signs, symptoms, and changes in a patient's condition in an ongoing manner to the RN or supervising health care provider
  • Is accountable for all patients assigned in accordance with established policies and procedures and within the scope of practice
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department
  • Maintain confidentiality
