Responsibilities

  • Directs the daily work and safety of associates in building, grounds, sanitation, fleet maintenance, repair, refrigeration systems, beverage department, power industrial equipment, and security
  • Advises on labor hours and consumable supplies within budget
  • Prepares work schedules, including extra work days and shifts as needed
  • Coordinates emergency response or crisis management, develops liaisons with local emergency management, and assists safety manager with training
  • Conducts selection, purchase, utilization, and inventory of company assets for fleet and facilities
  • Collaborates with other departments for efficient upgrades and repairs
  • Develops business relationships with third-party vendors (e.g., janitorial, pest services, security, contractors)
  • Maintains certificates of insurance and hold harmless agreements for vendors
  • Prepares budgets, profit plans, and capital requests
  • Evaluates metrics and adjusts activities to meet performance expectations
  • Suggests efficiency ideas, cost reductions, and implements changes in fleet, facility maintenance, beverage, power industrial equipment, and security
  • Establishes preventative maintenance schedules for all systems, equipment, and buildings (e.g., ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, fire protection, security, electrical, dock doors, power industrial equipment, building components)
  • Handles priorities, assigns, and monitors fleet and facility projects for quality and timely completion
  • Utilizes maintenance tracking software for task management
  • Administers audits for inspections and documentation (e.g., food safety, DOT records, EPSM, PSM)
  • Preserves associate relations through meetings, communication, morale monitoring, and idea submission
  • Interprets, trains, and enforces company policies and procedures
  • Coordinates with Safety department for training, observations, work methods, accident investigations, and safety initiatives
