Requirements

  • Experience in operations management, particularly in fleet and facility maintenance
  • Knowledge of government regulations, compliance (e.g., DOT, EPSM, PSM, food safety), and safety standards
  • Skills in budget preparation, expense management, profit plans, and capital requests
  • Ability to manage staff, including directing daily work, scheduling, selection, and training
  • Proficiency in maintenance tracking software and audit administration
  • Strong coordination and collaboration skills with departments, vendors, and emergency entities
  • Capability to establish preventative maintenance schedules for systems like refrigeration, HVAC, fire protection, security, electrical, dock systems, and building components

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily work and safety of associates in building, grounds, sanitation, fleet maintenance, repair, refrigeration, beverage department, power industrial equipment, and security
  • Advise on labor hours and consumable supplies within budget
  • Prepare work schedules, including extra days and shifts
  • Coordinate emergency response, crisis management, and liaise with local emergency entities; assist safety manager with training
  • Select, purchase, utilize, and inventory company assets for fleet and facilities
  • Collaborate with other departments for efficient upgrades and repairs
  • Develop relationships with third-party vendors (e.g., janitorial, pest, security, contractors) and maintain insurance/certificates
  • Prepare budgets, profit plans, and capital requests
  • Evaluate metrics, adjust activities, suggest efficiency ideas, and implement cost reductions
  • Establish preventative maintenance schedules for all systems, equipment, and buildings
  • Handle priorities, assign, and monitor fleet/facility projects for quality and timeliness
  • Utilize maintenance tracking software for task management
  • Administer audits, inspections, and documentation retention
  • Preserve associate relations through meetings, communication, morale monitoring, and idea submission
  • Train and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with Safety department on training, observations, work methods, and accident investigations
