Requirements

  • Understanding of food safety regulations (USDA, FDA, GMPs) and ability to conduct inspections for sanitation, pest control, and allergen management
  • Experience in fleet maintenance, ensuring vehicles and company equipment are in proper working condition with documentation and certifications

Responsibilities

  • Direct and monitor associates responsible for building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration systems, power industrial equipment, and security maintenance
  • Oversee operation, monitoring, and maintenance of refrigeration systems to meet temperature standards and partner with QA/Food Safety teams
  • Manage, assign, and oversee facility operations activities and capital projects, minimizing impact on distribution
  • Lead creation of a safety culture, ensuring injury-free operations and enforcing policies
  • Recruit, train, coach, evaluate staff, administer discipline, maintain associate relations, and manage labor hours/schedules
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third-party vendors (e.g., utilities, refrigeration, janitorial, pest control, security)
  • Oversee selection, purchase, utilization, inventory control, and life cycle management of company assets; file warranty claims and develop budgets
  • Partner with QA and sanitation teams for food safety compliance, facility cleanliness, and inspections
  • Ensure all vehicles and company-owned equipment are maintained properly with documentation and certifications
  • Optimize workflows using CMMS and automation technologies, partner with third-party providers, and implement sustainability initiatives
  • Lead and develop a skilled fleet and facilities operations and maintenance team to ensure safe, efficient, compliant operations
