Requirements

  • 3-5 years of diesel experience and/or training or combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Ability to obtain DOT Medical card
  • Commercial Driver License B (preferred)
  • Ability to diagnose basic mechanical problems
  • Thorough understanding of the methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in equipment repair and maintenance
  • Basic understanding of pump station electrical controls and monitoring devices
  • General DC electric and circuit testing skills
  • General diesel engine component location and identification
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and servicing as directed on Godwin fleet equipment between each rental
  • Troubleshoot diesel engine, electrical systems, and pump problems
  • Rebuild diesel engines and pump ends
  • Assist customer and/or Xylem personnel with setting up pumping systems on customer job sites as needed
  • Assist in the performance of start-up duties and ensure any problems are resolved
  • Perform an initial inspection of Godwin fleet equipment for possible damages; diagnose damages; report damages to Service Manager
  • Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality
  • Perform preventative maintenance on Company vehicles and shop support equipment
  • Perform diagnostic checks using computer technology
  • Participate in weekly on-call rotation schedule to assist customers after hours
  • Perform related duties as assigned
  • Participate in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
