As a Field Service Engineer supporting our Technical Service Team in Ireland. Field Service Engineering work is focused on providing technical support to customers including commissioning, installing, and testing of products/equipment.

Responsibilities

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Identifying and correcting more complex problems associated with start-up.
  • Maintaining, evaluating, and recommending new products or equipment upgrades that will meet customer needs.
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction on assigned territory. Ensure a high level of communication with customers, sales force and operations within operating region to ensure customer needs are rapidly addressed.
  • Responsible for controlling expenses within budgeted guidelines.
  • Properly manages company assets (company car, test equipment, computer, etc.).
  • Developing on-going relationships with customers to secure future business.
  • May resolve/troubleshoot implementation problems and/or train customers on the features of the equipment they have purchased.
  • Provide customer site service including equipment installation, maintenance, upgrade, retrofit and repair on Alcon surgical equipment within an assigned service territory.

Requirements

What you’ll bring to Alcon:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics or Electrical and Electronic or Biomedical Engineering.
  • 3 years of field service experience in Medical Electronics.
  • Experience servicing and maintaining in ophthalmological equipment.
  • Experience working with cataract and vitrectomy surgery machines would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Good level of English and perfect level of Turkish.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic circuits, pneumatics, optics, lasers, IT and networking.
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally when necessary.
  • Having problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Full clean Driving license.
