  • Preference for at least 3 years of practical experience as a Service Engineer with analytical instrumentation, or 3+ years of pertinent industry experience
  • Proficiency with Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry instrumentation preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive customer relationships
  • Ability to prioritize service requests and produce clear and concise documentation
  • Able to securely move 50 pounds with periodic support and 25-30 pounds continuously throughout the day
  • Ability to bend, squat, stretch, and reach daily in a service function
  • Travel overnight, including possible air travel, for 50% of scheduled work
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Work independently within a customer location
  • Extensive walking/standing for 75-85% of the day
  • Operate in areas where chemicals are handled
  • Operate material handling equipment like push carts and pallet jacks
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coats, coveralls, hood, face shield, respirator, hairnets, steel-toed shoes, safety gloves)
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance

  • Ideally based in the Saint Louis area (no relocation approved)

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installations, repairs, maintenance, qualifications, and validations of Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry systems
  • Proficiently use customer management software to complete service calls, handle parts inventories, and complete job tasks
  • Evaluate examination and assessment results to identify the origin of the issue, and suggest fixing, substitution, or alternative remedial measures
  • Coordinate problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs
  • Analyze Chemistry reports of technical problems to recommend modifications to eliminate future issues
  • Provide a communication link between the customer and the company to ensure effective service
  • Develop and conduct training on safe operations of the equipment and demonstrate skills to trainees
  • Coordinate all field service support and customer relationship management components
  • Deliver complete solutions for Chromatographic and Mass Spectrometric systems, including deployment, maintenance, proactive upkeep, and instrument verifications
