Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Sciences, or a related field, and have at least 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Service Engineer, particularly with Inorganic Mass Spectrometry instrumentation. Strong experience with IOMS, High-Resolution MA, GIRMS, or DFS instrumentation is preferred, along with effective interpersonal skills and the ability to establish good customer rapport. A valid Driver’s License and the ability to successfully pass federal background checks are required.
The Field Service Engineer III will be responsible for performing on-site installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and qualification of IOMS Spectroscopy instrumentation, focusing on customer satisfaction and collaboration with Professional Services and outsourcing functions. They will analyze customer reports and instrument data to diagnose problems, recommend corrective actions, coordinate repairs, and provide training to customers and team members. Furthermore, they will develop and conduct training on equipment operation, analyze instrument reports for factory modifications, and contribute to the growth of Thermo Fisher Scientific by advocating for the company and driving customer relationships.
