Requirements

  • Typically 2-5 years of experience in a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field (engineering or physics is an advantage)
  • Graduates must have demonstrated knowledge of TEM and/or SEM/SDB; full TEM/SEM training is equivalent to the BS degree
  • Experience with analytical fixing and problem-solving
  • Basic knowledge of vacuum systems, high voltage, electronics, mechanics
  • Knowledge of Electron Microscopy, XPS or other relevant X-ray technology
  • Excellent communication and customer handling skills
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Fluent in English and local language (Italian) in both word and writing
  • Valid passport/visa and driver’s license
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, primarily within Italy and occasionally Europe

Responsibilities

  • Performs service tasks on high-end systems and accessories for one or multiple product lines
  • Takes responsibility for customer communication related to the work and systems assigned
  • Supports team members to ensure highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved
  • Takes responsibility for assigned customer base as primary engineer
  • Takes responsibility for accurate completion of administrative tasks and required trainings
  • Takes responsibility for on-the-job training of engineers in local team
  • Provides regular updates to primary engineer and supervisor
  • Travels in the region to perform service tasks
  • Provides onsite customer service by performing installation, service and repair work on sophisticated instruments at the customer’s site
  • Ensures the system meets performance specifications
  • Instructs customers in the operation and alignment of the instrument
