Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience, or Diploma in Engineering/Biology with strong diagnostic experience (Molecular Biology expertise is an advantage)
  • At least 3 years as a Medical Technologist with diagnostic market experience
  • Hands-on experience with lab automation systems, LIS/connectivity, molecular diagnostics, and microbiology techniques
  • Experience in technical support and customer training in Clinical Diagnostics
  • Familiarity with KOL engagement, lead generation, and working with healthcare customers in Africa
  • Proven track record of achieving measurable goals
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Strong technical presentation and communication skills
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and calm under pressure
  • Problem-solving ability with a proactive, results-driven approach
  • Team player with strong collaboration and networking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and CRM/ERP systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • Strong time management, organizational, and project management skills
  • High compliance, integrity standards, and adherence to Danaher policies
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively in international environments
  • Willingness to spend ~80% of time on-site with customers
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Travel mainly within Southern Africa, with occasional worldwide travel
  • Flexibility to work after hours and weekends when required
  • Complete all assigned trainings satisfactorily and on time

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Cepheid systems
  • Integrate Cepheid instruments into customer laboratories and support validation and accreditation processes
  • Deliver training sessions on systems, software, reagents, and connectivity
  • Document installations, training, and service activities in SFDC, ensuring compliance with reporting standards
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, modifications, reactive repairs, and installations/de-installations
  • Manage spare parts stock, car stock, and other required service inventory
  • Build strong relationships with customers to ensure high satisfaction and optimized system performance
  • Address and resolve customer concerns in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Partner with Sales Representatives to develop and execute account strategies that accelerate Cepheid’s growth
  • Support demand generation for testing on the installed base and adoption of new assays
  • Conduct technical presentations, demonstrations, and product workshops
  • Provide customer insights and market intelligence to commercial and regional leadership
  • Ensure effective customer training programs are delivered consistently
  • Share knowledge and best practices with internal teams to improve service delivery
