Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Fluency in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English is required. Preferred qualifications include Category 3 experience, Retina Sales or Retina Experience, Account Management and/or Reimbursement experience in a provider office setting, Medical Practice Management or certified professional coder experience, experience working collaboratively in a matrix organization, and experience working with billing and medical claims personnel in healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

The Field Reimbursement Expert will manage daily patient access and reimbursement activities for accounts in a specified geography, supporting the Alcon surgical and ocular health portfolio. This role involves working with provider offices and outpatient facilities to educate staff on payer and reimbursement policies, coding, and claim appeals. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining strategic relationships with providers, partnering with field sales, educating providers on coding and billing requirements for Alcon equipment, analyzing market data, serving as a subject matter expert for Value Tools, and providing managed care and reimbursement training. The expert will also stay current on reimbursement and policy activities, share pertinent information with home office teams, and represent Alcon at industry functions. This is a remote position requiring up to 60% travel.
