The Field Marketing Representative (FMR) is crucial for achieving Sweed’s growth objectives. Reporting to the Vice President of Strategy, the FMR will focus on territory coverage (initially Ohio), aiming to visit at least 25 dispensaries weekly, execute regional events, and convert interest into qualified demos for Account Executives. Success will be measured by scheduled demos, qualified opportunities, and contributions to closed deals, with compensation tied to a competitive commission plan.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in field marketing, territory sales, or brand ambassadorship within the legal cannabis or regulated retail sector.
  • Familiarity with dispensary technology stacks (POS, e-commerce, loyalty, payments) and state compliance regulations.
  • Proficiency in HubSpot or a similar CRM, with a strong emphasis on data entry and pipeline management.
  • Ability to travel at least 75% within the assigned territory, possessing a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with frontline staff and C-level executives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record of generating pipeline for SaaS, POS, or fintech solutions.
  • Existing network of contacts within dispensary decision-making circles.
  • Experience in high-growth startup environments.
  • Knowledge of partner co-marketing strategies and event sponsorship best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Territory & Visit Execution:
    • Strategically plan weekly routes and conduct drop-in visits to 25+ dispensaries per week.
    • Accurately log all interactions in HubSpot with clear next steps, maintaining at least 95% CRM hygiene.
  • Event & Partner Activation:
    • Coordinate regional pop-ups, trade show booths, and partner lunch-and-learns from conception to follow-up.
    • Capture over 50 net-new qualified contacts per event and transfer them to Account Executives within 24 hours.
  • Opportunity Creation:
    • Engage with budtenders, managers, and owners to identify pain points and present Sweed’s platform.
    • Schedule a minimum of 8 qualified product demos per week that contribute to the sales pipeline.
  • Data & Governance:
    • Tag all contacts, visit notes, and lead sources accurately, adhering to Sweed’s data integrity standards.
    • Utilize dashboard insights to identify territory gaps and optimize field plans.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment:
    • Communicate field intelligence regarding competitor activities, pricing, and product gaps to Sales, Product, and RevOps teams during weekly syncs.
    • Participate in quarterly voice-of-customer sessions and competitive analysis.
  • Brand Advocacy:
    • Represent Sweed’s values and brand promise in all interactions.
    • Distribute compliant marketing materials, demonstrate thorough product knowledge, and ensure positive, on-brand experiences for all dispensary stakeholders.
