Requirements

  • PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Chemistry, or Biochemistry (or M.S. with 3+ years of relevant experience)
  • Experience in biotech, ideally within a clinical or regulated environment
  • Fluent in German and English

  • Experience with sequencing technologies, lab automation, and bioinformatics tools preferred

  • Willing to travel extensively across Germany (up to 80%) with valid driving license and own vehicle

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate new instrument installations, including facility inspections, validation, and customer training
  • Ensure operational quality and instruct customers on system maintenance and best practices
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to assay design, experimental setup, software, and instrumentation
  • Escalate complex cases to internal teams to minimize downtime and maximize customer success
  • Communicate technical updates and insights to customers and Sales teams
  • Understand customer goals, set expectations, and identify new opportunities for growth
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to deliver workshops, demonstrations, and seminars
  • Contribute to departmental projects and strategic plans under Illumina’s team-selling model
