Requirements

Candidates must possess a Master's or PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Protein Engineering, or a related field, with 3-5 years of commercial experience, preferably in Pharma. Strong technical knowledge of Next Generation sequencing (NGS), hands-on experience with NGS library preparation and target enrichment, and 3-5 years of experience with automation platforms like Beckman, PerkinElmer, Tecan, or Hamilton are required. A successful candidate will have both NGS and Field Application Scientist (FAS) experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively. Flexibility in working hours to support multiple time zones and experience with customer support and CRM systems are a plus.

Responsibilities

The Field Application Scientist will serve as the primary technical field contact for customers, acting as a liaison between the customer and Twist Bioscience. Responsibilities include providing pre- and post-sales technical support and market development for Twist’s Next Generation target enrichment product line. This involves discussing Twist’s capabilities and product offerings with customers, providing application support, and liaising between customers, sales teams, product management, and internal teams like R&D and Production. The role also includes identifying and nurturing collaborations, supporting the sales team in technical discussions and presentations, providing high-level technical support for experimental design, networking with customers, and reporting feedback on customer requirements to Product Management. Additionally, the FAS will stay informed of competitive market information and research developments in the field.
