Requirements

  • Experience in operations management, particularly in facility maintenance, repair, and equipment handling
  • Knowledge of government regulations, safety, security, and compliance standards (e.g., food safety, EPSM, PSM, GFSI)
  • Skills in expense management, budgeting, labor hours, and consumable supplies control
  • Ability to manage staff, including selection, development, discipline, performance reviews, and terminations
  • Proficiency in maintenance tracking software for task and project management
  • Capability to coordinate with third-party vendors and maintain business relationships
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance for systems like ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, fire protection, security, electrical, dock equipment, power industrial equipment, and building components
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% and work flexible schedules including extra days/shifts
  • Strong communication, training, and associate relations skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily work and safety of associates in building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration, beverage department, power industrial equipment, and security
  • Oversee labor hours and consumable supplies within budget
  • Prepare work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed
  • Coordinate emergency response/crisis management, liaise with local emergency entities, and assist Safety Manager with training
  • Handle selection, purchase, utilization, and inventory of company assets for facilities, beverage, power industrial equipment, and security
  • Coordinate with other departments for efficient upgrades and repairs
  • Develop relationships with third-party vendors (janitorial, pest, security, contractors, etc.) and maintain certificates of insurance/hold harmless agreements
  • Suggest efficiency ideas, cost reductions, and implement changes in facility maintenance, beverage, power industrial equipment, and security
  • Establish preventative maintenance schedules for all systems, equipment, and buildings
  • Manage, assign, and monitor department projects for quality and timely completion using maintenance software
  • Conduct audits for inspections and documentation (food safety, EPSM, PSM, GFSI, etc.)
  • Maintain associate relations through meetings, communication, morale monitoring, and engagement improvements
  • Interpret, train on, and enforce company policies/procedures
  • Coordinate with Safety department for training, observations, work methods, accident investigations, and inspections
  • Make recommendations for disciplinary action/behavior modification
  • Execute staff management functions: selection, development, discipline, performance reviews, terminations
