Requirements

Responsible for the plastic extrusion area, ensuring set-ups for part number changes (assembly and disassembly of tooling) on extrusion machines, guaranteeing efficiency, safety, compliance with established times, and company standards
Ability to start and supervise extrusion runs, adjusting process parameters (pressure, time, temperature, etc.) as necessary
Supervise team members (specialized extrusion operator and material handler)
Knowledge of auxiliary equipment set-up and operation (Zum Bach, Betalasermike, cutters, puller, etc.), and completing required forms (model change checklist, parameter checklist, first article format)
Ability to receive and hand over shifts for the extrusion area, tracking pending items
Capability to perform preventive maintenance on extruder screws to improve performance and equipment availability
Ensure processes produce acceptable parts within standards (cycle time, scrap percentage, required quality) by addressing process issues
Comply with applicable procedures, attend trainings and capacitations
Provide support for training operators, molding technicians, and manufacturing personnel

Responsibilities

Perform set-up of auxiliary equipment (Zum Bach, Betalasermike, cutters, puller, etc.) and their operation, filling necessary forms for production start-up
Receive shift handover for the extrusion area to know pending items and follow up accordingly, as well as deliver shift handover
Follow up on compliance with the production plan
Verify the extrusion process (before, during, and after)
Maintain machinery and equipment in clean and optimal conditions for manufacturing processes in the extrusion area, and keep the work area orderly and clean
Ensure extrusion equipment processes produce acceptable parts running within established standards by resolving process problems
Generate reduction in machine downtime due to starts and process issues
Constantly monitor machines during the shift
Supervise that all established procedures in the extrusion area are carried out correctly and effectively by assigned personnel (specialized extrusion operator and material handler)
Implement process improvements for greater productivity in the extrusion area
Ensure maintenance of dies, tooling, and equipment is performed, and follow up to keep extruder tooling in optimal conditions
Ensure extrusion machines and tooling are maintained in assigned areas to meet scheduled production on time, with quality, efficiency, and adherence to the plan, while keeping the work area orderly
Verify effective execution of the production plan
