As a Cloud Engineer, you’ll be part of an agile project team working with all the infrastructure pieces of a system. You will oversee the migration process and design, maintain and monitor the new cloud platform, as well as configuring hybrid connectivity between on-site systems and the cloud environment. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical skills and leadership ability, with the communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with other members of the IT team. This role focuses on designing, deploying, and managing cloud services within the Microsoft Azure platform, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security for business operations and innovation within the cloud ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Azure Cloud Experience: Designing, deploying, configuring, and optimizing cloud platforms.
  • IT Skills: Networking, systems administration, data protection, information security, and CI/CD tooling (Azure DevOps).
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with Terraform (Azure CLI, ARM Templates, and Puppet).
  • Kubernetes: Experience with Kubernetes, preferably AKS.
  • Scripting: Experience with PowerShell for writing scripts.

  • Cloud Solution Design: Designing and implementing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions on the Azure platform (with a clear exit strategy).
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with development teams to integrate cloud services into software applications.
  • Optimization: Optimizing resource utilization and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Azure Updates: Staying current with Azure services updates and industry best practices.
  • Technical Support: Providing technical support and guidance to stakeholders on cloud-related issues.
  • Documentation: Developing and maintaining documentation for cloud architectures, procedures, and training materials.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services with business processes.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements.
  • IaC Development: Developing and implementing infrastructure as code (IaC) using cloud native tooling to ensure automated and consistent platform deployments.
  • Data Protection: Develop and implement automated policy driven data protection best practices to ensure cloud solutions are protected from data loss.
  • Cloud Adoption Support: Support cloud adoption of applications as they are being modernized.
  • Infrastructure Management: Designing, migrating, and operating on medium to large scale enterprise infrastructure, databases, and application systems.
