Responsibilities

  • Provide direction to the company's strategy on energy and environment
  • Develop and implement policy proposals based on social developments and legislation
  • Advise the management team on the impact of policies and annual plans
  • Initiate, guide, and possibly execute internal and external audits
  • Develop and manage an accessible (certified) management system
  • Ensure up-to-date documents and data for management
  • Identify training needs within the organization
  • Propose and execute training plans in consultation with stakeholders
  • Independently initiate, manage, and execute projects
  • Identify and analyze (potential) risks
  • Advise on and propose improvement measures to reduce identified risks
  • Report analysis results and advise on solutions to limit risks
  • Translate the policy annual plan and monitor/manage associated budgets
  • Responsible for implementation and evaluation after approval by the management team
  • Apply for permits under the Environmental Law (Omgevingswet)
  • Negotiate with governments on the interpretation of applicable legislation
  • Externally represent Abbott's business interests at local and regional levels
  • Prepare and oversee accurate reporting to various governments and internally
