The ideal candidate has experience as a Sales Engineer or Pre-Sales Engineer, with a strong understanding of MEDDPICC and/or Command of the Message sales frameworks. They must have at least 3 years of experience selling into Enterprise and Mid Market prospects, with expertise in container technologies (Kubernetes, Serverless, Docker), cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google), cloud security or container security, and application security. Startup experience is a plus, and candidates must be fluent in both German and English and located in Germany.
This role involves assessing prospect technical requirements and demonstrating how Chainguard products meet client needs. The Enterprise Sales Engineer will cultivate relationships with decision-makers, negotiate competing stakeholder needs, and secure technical wins through demos, RFP/RFI responses, and Proofs of Value (POVs). Responsibilities include partnering with the sales team to prove solution value, acquiring new customer logos, growing the existing customer base, and owning all technical aspects of sales opportunities. The role also requires listening to customer challenges, conducting product demonstrations and POVs/POCs, and actively participating in webinars, meetups, conferences, and other marketing initiatives.
