Requirements

  • Experienced sales professional, ideally with open source experience
  • Experience selling into global enterprise accounts
  • Experience in sales efforts for early-stage enterprise products in an entrepreneurial setting
  • True desire to see customers benefit from their investment with Kong
  • Experience selling enterprise software (experience with open source, APIs, and/or infrastructure software a big plus)
  • Ability to leverage established relationships and proven sales techniques
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills
  • Motivated, driven, and results-oriented
  • Ability to travel to customer sites (30%-50%)

Responsibilities

  • Sell Kong Enterprise Platform to enterprise customers
  • Meet individual quota and objectives
  • Take ownership of book of business, including understanding and documenting buying criteria and process
  • Determine appropriate motion and patterns for sales
  • Ensure pipeline accuracy based on evidence
  • Work leads to closure
  • Provide account leadership and direction in pre- and post-sales processes
  • Contribute to analysis on wins/losses
