A Bachelor's degree in linguistics, translation, biology, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of two years of experience in translation, linguistic quality assessment, copywriting, or copy-editing, specifically within patents or technical content. A deep understanding of biological terminology and the ability to adapt complex scientific language for target audiences are essential. Exceptional command of both English (en-US) and Norwegian (nb-NO) is necessary, as is proven experience in reviewing or translating patents or technical documents. Proficiency in using CAT tools such as JIRA and XTM for project management and quality assessment is also required.
The role involves performing linguistic quality assessments (LQA) of translated content from English to Norwegian, identifying and correcting linguistic errors to ensure consistency in terminology, style, and adherence to client-specific guidelines. Responsibilities include providing detailed feedback to translators, creating comprehensive quality reports, and ensuring adherence to client-specific style guides, glossaries, and project guidelines. The specialist will utilize CAT tools (JIRA, XTM) for efficient review and assessment and manage weekly capacity to handle 2,000-5,000 words per locale, ensuring timely task completion.
