Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in linguistics, translation, biology, or a related field, along with a minimum of two years of experience in translation, linguistic quality assessment, copywriting, or copy-editing, specifically within the context of patents or technical content. A deep understanding of biological terminology and the ability to adapt complex scientific language for target audiences are essential, alongside exceptional command of both English (en-US) and Icelandic (is-IS). Proficiency in utilizing CAT tools such as JIRA and XTM for project management and quality assessment is also required.
The content reviewer will be responsible for localizing, translating, and adapting biology patents and related content while adhering to the established writing style guide and guidelines. They will perform linguistic quality assessments (LQA) of translated content, identifying and correcting linguistic errors to ensure consistency in terminology, style, and adherence to client-specific guidelines, providing detailed feedback to translators and creating comprehensive quality reports. The role also involves ensuring adherence to client-specific style guides, glossaries, and project guidelines, managing weekly capacity to handle 2,000 - 5,000 words per locale, and guaranteeing timely task completion.
