Requirements

Candidates must have experience managing engineering teams focused on infrastructure, platform, or developer-facing tools. A strong technical background in systems engineering, cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, OpenStack, etc.), and developer platform architecture is required. Proven ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and product-oriented development in open communities or large-scale developer ecosystems is essential, along with excellent communication and facilitation skills, especially in distributed and asynchronous environments. Hiring will be restricted to candidates located within UTC-3 to UTC+3.

Responsibilities

The Engineering Manager will lead a team in building and maintaining core services for Toolforge and associated developer platforms, simplifying the tool lifecycle from creation to deprecation. They will drive the transition of Toolforge to production-level reliability using technologies like Kubernetes and Helm, and collaborate with product, SRE, developer advocacy, and community contributors to improve developer workflows. The role involves setting direction, unblocking work, ensuring delivery against technical and organizational goals, and hiring and developing a high-performing, inclusive engineering team.
