Requirements

Over 2 years of experience as a software engineering manager, leading teams responsible for high-scale production services
At least 5 years of professional software development experience, contributing to the development of full-stack web applications and/or distributed systems
Excel at aligning and executing new technical ideas, demonstrating an understanding of best practices
Proven experience in driving effective execution with agile processes in a dynamic environment
A people-oriented leader, capable of modelling and fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture
Exceptional at communicating, passionate about technology and committed to raising the bar
Experience working with distributed teams across different time zones (advantageous)
Proficient in English
Hands-on experience designing and building cloud-native architecture for AWS, GCP, or similar (bonus)
Passion for open source and staying abreast of community developments (bonus)
Passion for building distributed systems for large-scale, high-volume applications

Responsibilities

Lead a team of experienced engineers in Poland
Define the team's roadmap, execution plans, and take ownership of project delivery
Develop team members through 1:1s, career planning, coaching discussions, and hiring
Uphold values by building a collaborative, inclusive team focused on customer impact
Cultivate a culture of excellence through emphasis on execution, quality, and scale
Organize stand-ups, sprint planning, technical discussions, and manage sprint task statuses
Collaborate with product teams to scope new features, provide project estimates, and inform quarterly commitments
Work with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to ensure the team delivers significant business impact
Represent Box internally and externally
