Candidates should possess 3+ years of engineering management experience leading backend or data infrastructure teams, along with 7+ years of total software engineering experience. Strong technical expertise in building and scaling data pipelines, particularly with stream and batch processing technologies is required, including familiarity with tools like Kinesis, Spark, Airflow, Lambda, Flink, and Athena. Proficiency with modern data warehouses and databases such as Clickhouse, Postgres, Snowflake, ElasticSearch, and Timestream is also necessary. Experience with event-driven systems, analytics platforms, or experimentation frameworks is a strong plus.
As an Engineering Manager, Data Products, you will manage, mentor, and support a team of engineers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement. You will drive execution on roadmap commitments and prioritize technical and product initiatives in collaboration with Product Management and Technical Leads. You’ll help set technical direction and guide architectural decisions for scalable and reliable data pipelines, while partnering with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers to align technical work with product goals. Championing engineering best practices in reliability, performance, and observability, along with upholding a high standard for code quality and deployment, are key responsibilities. Furthermore, you will collaborate with Recruiting and Engineering leadership to attract and retain top talent and build a diverse, inclusive team, and ensure the team upholds a high standard for code quality, testing, and deployment.
