Requirements

  • BS degree with 8+ years of experience in Computer Science or a related technical field (e.g., physics or mathematics)
  • Coding experience (e.g., physics or mathematics)
  • Experience with SW Design, Algorithms, data structures, and software design principles
  • Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Perl

Responsibilities

  • Maintain server infrastructure and services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health
  • Scale systems sustainably through automation
  • Evolve systems to improve reliability and velocity
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to resolve production issues for customers
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
  • Independently architect and design solutions using efficient algorithms and a standard Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process (requirements gathering, SW design, testing, deployment, & release)
  • Support large-scale server infrastructure with monitoring, logging, and alerting, ensuring promised uptime
  • Engage in and improve the entire lifecycle of services – from inception and design through deployment, operation, and refinement
  • Support services before they go live through system design consulting, software platform and framework development, capacity management, and launch reviews
