Requirements

Candidates should have 7+ years of product engineering leadership experience in a high-growth environment, with deep experience on complex products or platforms. Proven experience leading and scaling engineering organizations of 35+ people across multiple teams is essential. Passion for coaching and building inspired teams, strong business acumen, and an understanding of platform principles are required. Experience building a developer platform or partner ecosystem, working with forward-deployed or customer-facing engineering teams, and managing contractors or nearshore development centers are considered a plus.

Responsibilities

The Director of Engineering will lead and grow a dynamic engineering organization focused on evolving and scaling the Developer Platform and Engineering Services. They will partner closely with Design, Product, Engineering, and Go To Market teams to build out integrations and scale the engineering services team. This role involves leading multiple full-stack engineering teams to deliver results consistently and sustainably, maintaining a high bar for execution and quality. The Director will proactively identify, define, and lead strategic initiatives, guide technical strategy to align engineering capabilities with business outcomes, and influence Vanta's engineering culture and strategy. They will also coach, mentor, and create an environment for teams and managers to do their best work.
