  • Minimum of 12 years manufacturing and/or engineering experience in support of pharmaceutical or API networks

Responsibilities

  • Execute the profiling/front-end-planning process for critical capital initiatives in manufacturing based on direction from the network leader
  • Ensure business strategy and drivers for investment are clear
  • Identify functional unit stakeholders and the functional requirements
  • Identify the performance criteria that is required, formulating user requirements for capacity, capability, cost, etc
  • Develop a project concept, including block flow diagrams of the process, capacity analysis, technology/platform assessment, utilities/infrastructure required, and preliminary layouts
  • Estimate the cost and schedule required to accomplish the concept
  • Identify and vet alternatives to achieve network goals
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g. manufacturing strategy, supply chain, site leaders) and partners with outside firms as necessary to acquire benchmarking and industry information
  • Create a file that outlines scope, estimate, schedule, and requirements for the potential project
  • Gain alignment and formal decision with business leaders via an Approval of Concept (AOC) meeting
  • Participate in Project Change Reviews and monitor on-going projects to assess execution versus the profile
  • Contribute to a capital planning database for major projects
  • Understand the needs and develop options for capital projects that will support manufacturing strategic agendas (focusing on Parenteral and/or API network)
  • Build consensus between global engineering and manufacturing network leadership groups
  • Provide input into various strategic assessments of different business opportunities within manufacturing networks
  • Participate in GFD governance processes between project launch and end of basic design to assure the optimum business solution continues to be developed and warranted changes of scope/capability are communicated/approved by stakeholders
