Requirements

  • Required Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience as an IT engineer, specializing in the analysis of hardware systems for IT solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution (relevant experience may be substituted: five (5) additional years of hardware engineering and testing experience can replace the degree)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and collaboration abilities
  • Office presence a minimum of 5 days per week (no relocation offered)

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior level IT hardware engineering analysis and support, focusing on desktop computing architecture for user devices, system configuration, testing, and integration
  • IT Hardware Engineering Support: preventative and maintenance, deploying and installing hardware, analyzing ticketing trends to propose solutions
  • Collaboration and Planning: work with OEMs and VARs, prepare hardware specifications based on system requirements, mentor junior engineers
  • Technical Documentation and Testing: prepare engineering plans, technical design packages, functional and performance test plans, site installation, and test reports
  • Configuration and Problem Solving: develop standardized configurations and field troubleshooting methods for end user computing devices and peripheral equipment
  • Management and Leadership: assist in preparation of status reports, organize desktop engineering efforts, provide leadership to junior engineers and systems administrators, occasionally act as End User Services Manager
  • Innovation and Service Improvement: develop technology insertion plans to introduce new technologies and coordinate service improvement activities across people, processes, and technologies
  • Work with management to assess hardware specifications and system requirements, develop practical solutions for hardware components (workstations, laptops, monitors, printers, user interface devices)
  • Prepare functional requirements for hardware purchases, create and manage test plans, address operational hardware issues
  • Develop installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides
