Requirements

  • Ability to perform highly diversified duties including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting and repair
  • Skills in installing, repairing, maintaining, and adjusting indicating, recording, telemetering, controlling instruments and test equipment
  • Proficiency in field fault analysis for instruments, hardwire relay logic, motor control circuits (120V to 480V 3-phase), PLC-based systems, and control logic modification
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, PMs, and work orders
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (input maintenance results/history, review BOM parts, history, scheduled WO)
  • Capability to use a variety of hand and power tools, test equipment, and material handling equipment
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb all day; lift and/or move items over 75 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
  • Regular ability to talk and hear
  • Tolerance for work environment: exposure to fumes/airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, live voltage, loud noise; use of PPE (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection)
  • Availability for 24/7 shift schedule (14 shifts in 28-day period: 7 dayshift, 7 nightshift)

Responsibilities

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service
  • Perform simple preventative maintenance: inspect instruments/test equipment, adjust calibration, change filters
  • Install, repair, maintain, and adjust instruments/test equipment controlling variables like pressure, flow, temperature, motion, force, chemical composition using precision instruments and hand tools
  • Conduct field fault analysis to determine instrument failure vs. process problems; disassemble, examine, test mechanisms/circuitry for defects (e.g., position sensors, band heaters, multimeters, level control)
  • Perform fault analysis on hardwire relay logic, motor control/power circuits (120V-480V 3-phase), utility/lighting circuits, PLC systems; modify control logic if required
  • Install new control circuits, modify existing instrument/electrical systems including design, load, and implementation of new control logic
  • Replace/repair defective parts using hand tools
  • Diagnose problems, replace/repair parts, test, and make adjustments
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities
  • Work with Computerized Maintenance Management System for input/review of maintenance data
  • Prioritize safety first at all times
