Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. A strong knowledge of control system design principles and methodologies is required, along with a minimum of 5 years’ experience designing industrial motor control cabinets for heavy machinery equipment. Experience with control languages for PLCs and HMIs is necessary, and familiarity with system-on-chip (SoC) architectures is preferred. Proficiency with B&R, Rockwell/AB, GE, and/or Siemens and comfort in ladder logic is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
The Electrical Controls Engineer will design and develop control systems for industrial automation projects. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define project scope. The engineer will develop control algorithms and programs for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and human machine interfaces (HMIs). They are responsible for conducting testing and troubleshooting of control systems to ensure proper functionality. Additionally, they will collaborate with suppliers and vendors to select appropriate components for control systems and provide technical support during the installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases of projects. Staying updated with industry trends and advancements in control system technologies is also part of the role.
