Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of experience in PLC and HMI systems support, with familiarity in die cast, injection molding, or similar manufacturing processes preferred. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline is preferred but not required. Experience with TIA portal and Siemens S7 is strongly preferred, while knowledge of Allen Bradley is a plus. Previous experience providing remote support via teleservice is helpful, and candidates must be willing to travel up to 10-15% per year and be on call or work overtime occasionally during equipment installations or customer emergencies.
The Electrical Controls Engineer will write PLC and Robotics code from scratch, assist the Testing & Controls team, and perform factory acceptance testing on new systems. They will use Allen Bradley tools to support PLC and HMI systems in the field for necessary changes, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The role includes generating e-drawing modifications of PLC and HMI systems for customer quotations, designing and running experiments on PLC, HMI, and touch screen systems on die cast manufacturing equipment, testing and debugging new HMI updates prior to customer installation, and managing PLC and touch panel backups on the server.
