Requirements

Candidates should possess a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in shop or field heavy equipment troubleshooting and repair, along with technical certifications or an Associate’s Degree. They must have a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical theories and principles, good written and verbal communication skills, and computer literacy for work orders and email. Applicants should also be able to obtain a forklift license and furnish tools suitable for heavy equipment repair, while maintaining a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

The Electric Forklift Technician will troubleshoot and perform complex repairs on material handling equipment in both the shop and field, adhering to preventative maintenance schedules, completing work orders promptly, and maintaining open communication with the service manager. They will also be responsible for diagnosing equipment issues, working within set time parameters, multitasking, and following established procedures, while fostering positive working relationships and professionally managing difficult situations. Furthermore, they will be expected to work safely in all weather conditions, lift and handle heavy loads up to 55 lbs, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
