Candidates must possess a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy, and must be licensed as a pharmacist in the state of practice. A current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the state is required, along with a strong understanding of pharmacy law and regulations. Prior experience in long-term care pharmacy is preferred, and familiarity with Omnicare’s systems and processes is a plus.
As a Dispensing Pharmacist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely dispensing of medications to long-term care facilities, including verifying orders, checking for accuracy, and preparing labels and packaging. You will also provide comprehensive drug screening, information, and processing services, as well as assist in maintaining inventory and adhering to DEA and state regulations. Furthermore, you will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and service within the pharmacy team, and provide coverage during scheduled rotations as needed.
